Here are Some helpful DiscreetZ™ Questions and Answers:
Question – How do Patent Pending DiscreetZ filters and absorbers get rid of noise and odor from flatulence?
Answer – First, they must be positioned directly at the source of the noxious gas and sound. Secondly, DiscreetZ proprietary filters and absorbers by design have exceptional filtering and odor absorption characteristics for neutralizing large releases of offensive intestinal gas. Wearing snug fitting underwear also helps direct gas through the filter(s)and assists in eliminating noise.
Question – What is a SilentlyFresh Filter (SFF)?
Answer – They are comfortable hypoallergenic custom designed 5-layer super thin and highly effective filters for average flatus, aka normal farts. Properly positioned, they can eliminate up-to 100% of noise and foul smell. SFFs are also designed to work as a pre-filter when using a PowerFart Absorber.
Question – What is a PowerFart™ Absorber (PFA)?
Answer – They are highly absorbent 4-MM Activated Carbon Fiber filters which neutralize foul odors up to 10 times more effectively than a SilentlyFresh Filter alone. So, use them for extremely offensive high volume releases of nasty gas and they also add an additional layer of sound absorption.
Question – Should I use a SilentlyFresh Filter and PowerFart Absorber together?
Answer – Absolutely, for maximum effectiveness to eliminate flatus noise and extreme odor. Positioning your SFF first is more comfortable and works better for quieting noise when properly positioned, then install your PFA folded accordion style for extreme odor absorption. Sparingly, use any lotion, salve or a topical ointment for hemorrhoid you choose for your all day comfort and installation of your SFF.
Question – Are Discreetz designed for daily use?
Answer – Definitely yes; however, some will choose to use DiscreetZ for special events or particularly bad gas days and many will want daily around the clock protection.
Question –Can I use DiscreetZ if I have hemorrhoids or other anal irritations.
Answer – Yes, however; everyone’s anatomy is different concerning hemorrhoids and anal irritations. Adding cremes and salves helps for comfort. We recommend checking with your physician for these concerns.
Question – Do Filters or Absorbers work well for eliminating menstruation odors or other unpleasant smells.
Answer – Yes. For undesirable odors down under, just tape a filter or an absorber to your underwear as close to the source as possible. For extreme odors, tape a 4mm absorber in place for maximum effectiveness. Double face tape is supplied in your kit for this purpose.
Performance and Installation:
Question – How do I position my SilentlyFresh filter for maximum effectiveness?
Answer – Installing your SFF slightly in your Erie Canal (Lol) is by far best for maximum effectiveness. This helps hold your filter in place while preventing your canal and buttocks from reverberating or slapping together loudly! This forces foul smelling gas to escape quietly and directly through the filter neutralizing up to 100% of odor and sound. Wearing snug fitting underwear helps direct gas through the filter(s)and eliminates noise.
Question – How do I position my PowerFart Absorber for maximum effectiveness?
Answer – First, install your SilentlyFresh filter slightly in your canal with a touch of lotion, salve or a topical ointment – this now serves as a pre-filter. Fold your PowerFart absorber accordion style and place it between your buttocks, pressing it snugly against and between the exposed portions of your pre-installed SFF.
Question – Does it feel weird to put a filter and an absorber in your butt cheeks and possibly your canal?
Answer – Of course at first it may feel a little different; however, our bodies normally adapt quickly to changes and within a short time most users say they quickly forget that they have a filter or absorber in place. It may take a moment getting use to it. Many users say that once they are use to the protection they now feel awkward without it!
Question – Can I position my SilentlyFresh Filter near or barely touching my canal without slightly inserting for some degree of effectiveness?
Answer – Yes, for some this may work reasonably well. It always depends on your quantity of gas which increases velocity and the severity of foul gas odor.
Question – Should I install a PowerFart Absorber in my canal?
Answer – No, we do not recommend tucking a PFA in your canal since they are thicker and designed to work in conjunction with your SFF. We recommend installing a SFF, which is designed for more comfort first as a pre-filter.
Question – Can I simply tape filters in my underwear like many other brands recommend?
Answer – Yes, however, this is far less effective. It does help somewhat and fortunately our filters are a higher quality and a lower price than most others. We supply double face tape in your Fart Elimination Kit to help facilitate this if and when desired.
Question – What’s the best way to tape PFAs and SFFs to underwear?
Answer –The goal is to position filters as close to the source as possible. To be effective with this method – which only helps with odor absorption, not noise – adhere double-face tape on both edges of the device then peel back the paper layer to reveal more adhesive. Now position on your underwear by pressing adhesive and underwear together. When removing filter and adhesive, carefully pull the filter with adhesive from underwear to avoid remnants of filter material and adhesive remaining attached.
Question – Which salves, cremes and other topical medications can be used in conjunction with DiscreetZ?
Answer – All over the counter ointments can be used for comfort of installation and all day use. Some examples are lotion, petroleum jelly, antibiotic cremes, hemorrhoid ointments, etc. Prescription ointments are also permissible with your physicians approval. Use ointments sparingly so as not to block the ability of gas to flow through your filter. Too much ointment may make it harder to keep your filter from slipping out of place.
Question –Can I install my SFF or PFA without any ointment?
Answer – Yes, if your skin does not get irritated. With no ointment, filters stay positioned much better – but most people chose a little ointment for comfort.
Reusing Filters and Absorbers:
Question – Can I reuse SilentlyFresh Filters?
Answer – These filters are designed to be inexpensive and disposable. DiscreetZ does not recommend reusing any filter or absorber – this is a decision made by purchasers who must consider the unsanitary risk of reuse. However, some users who claim to reuse have indicated that they clean and disinfect them with a slightly damp alcohol swab. Activated Carbon can be regenerated with air and heat, however, diminishing effectiveness is to be expected. There are several regenerative methods to be found on search engines.
Question – Can I reuse PowerFart Absorbers?
Answer – PFAs are slightly more expensive than SFFs and disposable; however, based on their density they have excellent regenerative qualities. DiscreetZ does not recommend reusing any filter or absorber – this is a decision made by purchasers who must consider the unsanitary risk of reuse. However, some users who claim to reuse have indicated that they clean and disinfect them with a slightly damp alcohol swab. Activated Carbon can be regenerated with air and heat; however, diminishing effectiveness is to be expected. There are several regenerative methods to be found on search engines.
Question –Why do I still hear some sound when passing gas?
Answer – Again, everyone’s anatomy varies – including their quantity of gas released at any one time. If you have large quantities of gas or your anatomy is prone to noise from higher up inside your canal, installing your SFF deeper is the best solution for optimizing effectiveness. Preventing your anus and butt cheeks from reverberating or slapping together is what makes your SFF and PFA so effective.
Question –Why do I still smell some foul odor when passing gas?
Answer –As mentioned, everyone’s anatomy varies including their quantity and severity of sulfur enriched intestinal gas. This is when using your PFA folded accordion style with a SFF installed first as a pre-filter works best. Both should be as close to the source of odor as possible. Forcing all foul gas through your filter and absorber eliminates all or most odor. Gas escaping around the filter without going through it is why some smell occasionally is noticeable. Snug underwear helps force gas through your filter and absorber for odor and noise control. Experiment with positioning and watch our 1-minute explainer videos for proper use and positioning.
Question – Why do I occasionally experience some loss of effectiveness after several hours of using my filters and absorbers?
Answer – Normally, this is taken care of by simply adjusting or reinstalling your filter and absorber closer to the source of gas expulsion. Just press your filter or filters back, near, at, or in your canal. Remember, snug underwear and proper initial positioning will also help longer term effectiveness.
Question – Why do I feel some irritation when using my filters?
Answer – Everyone’s skin reacts differently to various fabrics. Your skin may be more sensitive. Experiment with different topical salves or lotions applied sparingly to the filter surface which comes in contact with your skin. Consider only using new filters and absorbers daily, if you have been trying to reuse them.
